CONSENT & PARTICIPATION

Explore fully.
Choose freely.

Edessa welcomes Tantra, sexuality, intimacy and the pleasure of connection. Clear agreements help us meet one another with care, honesty and respect.

Your body, your boundaries and your pace remain yours throughout the festival.

HOW WE MEET EACH OTHER

Freedom, with
care for one another.

These agreements apply in workshops, at meals, on the dance floor and in the everyday moments between them.

01

Know the invitation

Read the workshop description and listen to the introduction. Ask about the practice, touch, paired work or anything you want to understand before deciding to take part.

02

Ask. Listen. Respect.

Ask before touching someone and wait for a clear, freely given yes. Consent to one activity or body area does not mean consent to another. Silence, hesitation or a previous yes is not permission.

03

You can change your mind

You can decline an exercise, change your mind, pause or step out. Respect someone else’s no or pause without pressure, persuasion or asking them to explain.

04

Choose your own pace

A festival can be full of experiences. Make room for meals, rest and quiet time. Choose the workshops that suit you, and let other people make their own choices.

05

Keep personal experiences private

Ask before taking a photograph or making a recording. Do not share another person’s story or identify them as a participant without their permission.

06

Speak up when you need help

If something feels uncomfortable, stop or step out if you wish. Speak with the facilitator or an organiser. If the concern involves that person, speak with another organiser.

IN PRACTICE

Know what
you can choose.

You do not need to set your boundaries aside to belong here.

Do I need to undress or take part in touch?

No. Staying clothed is always welcome. Some workshops may include invitations to touch, self-exploration or optional nudity. Check the description and ask the facilitator about the invitation. You choose your level of participation.

Can I attend on my own?

Yes. You do not need to arrive with a partner. Where a workshop includes paired exercises, you can choose whether to take part and decline a proposed partner. Ask the facilitator about individual alternatives.

What if I want to observe or leave?

You can pause or step out. Ask the facilitator about observing, as privacy and the nature of an exercise may affect whether observation is suitable. There is no requirement to stay in an activity you do not want to continue.

Are these the ticket terms and conditions?

These are our shared participation agreements. Prices are shown in the registration section. Read our terms and conditions for booking information. Read both before booking.
