These Complaints and Grievance Procedures have been established for investigations and mediations concerning any complaints or formal grievances alleging violations of the Code of Ethics and Standards. Formal grievances are administered by third-party mediators – Safe Mediation – unless stated otherwise.
We expect individuals subject to the Code to act honourably. However, we also recognise that people have limitations, can exhibit unconscious biases, make mistakes, and occasionally cause harm without intent. In alignment with the ethos of our events, actions taken in response to grievances are intended to be constructive and restorative, serving as opportunities for learning and growth rather than purely punitive measures.
In cases of ethical transgressions, we understand the importance of meaningful restorative resolutions. These resolutions aim not only to rectify the transgression but also to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the professional's future actions. We will not retaliate against anyone who files a grievance according to these Procedures and will not tolerate any attempts by others to do so.
